The latest version of Drytac's VersaCoater XL was demonstrated at FESPA Digital 2011
Drytac says it is 'very pleased' by the attention given to the improved version of its VersaCoater XL UV liquid coating machine during its first live demonstrations at FESPA Digital. The launch included the unveiling of an optional white kit, which Drytac says removes the need to print in white.
The manufacturer states the VersaCoater XL 80 is 'the most economical, flexible finishing solution' for the wide-format market. The demonstration saw a 100m roll of printed vinyl coated, cured and wound back onto a core in four minutes using an optional roll-to-roll feature. The machine displayed a process speed of up to 33m/min.
Drytac adds that the machine reduces energy use thanks to a new curing system with split power feature, a pneumatically controlled dual blade scraper, and a Perspex transparent front cover with illuminated back-lit coating for better visibility. The 2m-wide version also has a new curing unit light shield to boost UV safety.
"I was very pleased at the level of interest shown for the VersaCoater XL," says Jim Tatum, vice-president, Drytac's Liquid division. "The new features truly make this machine unlike any other available on the market and we were able to demonstrate that successfully."
