Wallpaper printed for the children's area of Ikea demonstrates the potential of personalisation
Print and graphics company John E Wright is exhibiting at this week's In-Store Show in London, UK for the first time, and is marking its debut by inviting attendees to create a wallpaper design.
Anyone from a 'budding designer' or creative professional to those who 'simply want something original on [their] walls' is invited to enter the Design a Wall competition with designs up to 2.4 x 4m in size.
The contest aims to emphasise the increasing interest in personalised wallcoverings, explains Julie Boaden, John E Wright group sales manager. "Bespoke wallpaper is a growing area of our business and is something that always captures people's imagination," she says. "We can print anything from large single images to repeat patterns onto our wallpaper.
"Our experience shows that customers react with pleasure to bespoke wallpaper. It's not something that people are used to seeing. Used properly it can add depth and interest to a scheme. It can also be used to effectively communicate branding messages."
Entrants can upload their design online until September 28th, with the winner of the prize draw to be announced on October 12th. The In-Store Show takes place today and tomorrow (June 27th and 28th).
