Colour management solutions developer GMG has announced its ColorProof proofing product now supports HP's new Designjet Z6200 heavy-duty photo printer.

GMG states the combination of the 42" (1.07m) Designjet Z6200 and its ColorProof software offers 'a particularly fast, flexible and efficient solution' for printing POS material and posters as well as for proofing applications. The printer itself is aimed at the production of photography and fine art, among other indoor applications.

The Designjet Z6200 can print at speeds of up to 140sq m/hr at a resolution of 2,400dpi, and has an integrated measurement tool to enable the automation of some workflows. It uses 'extremely light-fast' HP Vivid Photo Inks that also offer a wider colour spectrum, says GMG.

ColorProof is based on the 4D colour-transformation engine, states GMG, and is aimed at calibrating digital ink-jet proofing devices accurately in order to produce contract colour proofs matched precisely to the printing process.
