Signal UK has used its new ValueJet with its Kona cutter for cut vinyl projects
Tunbridge Wells-based Signal UK has installed a new 1.3m eco-solvent Mutoh ValueJet 1324 with Mutoh Kona Cutter. It is Signal's second large-format Mutoh printer, and the company is using it alongside its existing 1.6m machine to expand its in-house services.
Signal UK directors Gary Rose and Paul Chapman decided it was time for a new printer after seeing the technology on show at Sign and Digital UK, Rose explains.
"We were quite interested in the latex technology, particularly as it appeared to offer faster production because the output doesn't need to gas out and so dries faster than eco-solvent," he says. "However, in comparison to the ValueJet 1324, this advantage was very easy to offset by more efficient production planning."
Rose adds: "We have already used the combination of the ValueJet and the Kona cutter to deliver some cut vinyl products for customers and the colour accuracy and speed of production is fantastic."
The Mutoh ValueJet 1324 and Kona Cutter were supplied by Colourgen reseller PSW Paper and Print.
