The Mimaki UJF-3042HG can print directly onto a range of materials up to 150mm thick, allowing the decoration of products such as laptops
Mimaki has announced a new desktop LED UV printer, the UJF-3042HG, will make its debut at FESPA Digital. The unit can print onto wood, plastic, metals and other substrates up to 150mm thick and also features extra print-heads to provide six colours plus white and clear, to create matte and gloss finishes.
"This desktop LED UV ink-jet printer expands the thickness of materials that can be used for print to 150mm," states Mike Horsten, marketing manager, Mimaki Europe. "Even most larger, more expensive printers can only print on materials with a thickness of up to 51mm, making this a huge breakthrough for the industry. The printer can print directly on A3 media (420 x 297mm)."
The UJF-3042HG supports three types of Mimaki ink – LH-100 hard UV ink with scratch and chemical resistance, LF-200 flexible UV ink, and LF-140 ink – and features an automated primer function to widen the range of compatible substrates without manual primer application.
The new printer will be distributed in the UK and Ireland by Hybrid Services. "Adding the 'HG' model to the Mimaki UJF-3042 product line-up provides customers with even greater choice dependent upon their application," says Hybrid's national sales manager, John de la Roche.
