[L-R] Mark Dempsey, HP account manager, and Matthew Wennington and Chris Bowen of FastAnt, seal the deal on FastAnt's new Scitex FB7600 at drupa
Leicester, UK-based marketing fulfilment service provider FastAnt has completed the purchase of an HP Scitex FB7600 industrial press at drupa, after the machine came top of the company's 'Pepsi Challenge' comparison tests of wide-format equipment from three different suppliers.
Adding the Scitex FB7600 to its stable, which already includes an HP Indigo digital press, will allow FastAnt to offer an in-house POS service alongside its existing range of marketing solutions, rather than outsourcing the work as the company had previously done. The 3.2m-wide (126") UV-curable printer was put to the test by FastAnt, alongside equipment from two other manufacturers, producing work on a number of substrates which were then compared by the PSP's sales and design teams.
"This internal 'Pepsi Challenge' resulted in the HP Scitex FB7600 consistently scoring the highest on every printed sample we displayed to our sales team, and as these are the guys that would eventually have to sell, that was effectively decision made," explains FastAnt managing director Matthew Wennington.
FastAnt, a subsidiary of offset-litho printer Taylor Bloxham, also selected the machine based on the company's positive experience of HP's customer service, which Wennington describes as 'a significant deal clincher'.
