Virtu Vetro inks from Polytype are designed for digital printing onto glass
Switzerland-based ink manufacturer Polytype says its Virtu Vetro UV-curable series, designed for printing onto glass surfaces for industrial use, has passed a number of tests demonstrating its compatibility and durability.
For the assessments – which spanned 21 categories in controlled conditions by an independent laboratory – the inks were printed onto glass that had been pre-treated with a primer Virtu bond. The inks were tested for resilience to light and heat, and resistance to commercial and industrial chemicals such as cleaning products, while standard water, condensation and Xenon arc lamp assessments were also carried out. Polytype states the inks did not peel, crack or discolour in any of the tests.
"This latest round of independent examinations validates Polytype's attention to detail and reconfirms our commitment to providing quality printing solutions to our customers," says Sylvia Muhr, sales director for Polytype's Virtu business unit.
"We are proud to see our dedication to excellence in ink performance confirmed independently, proving that the Virtu family of platforms and inks is the right choice for every kind of output, whatever its destination."
