The JV400-160LX wide-format printer with latex ink will make its debut at Sign and Digital UK 2012
Mimaki has unveiled new latex inks including the first white latex ink on the market. New wide-format ink-jet printers and a 'super durable' UV-curable ink are also due to be released.
The new Mimaki 1.3m JV400-130LX and 1.6m JV400-160LX printers use the aqueous, resin-based latex ink to deliver speeds of up to 18sq m/hr at 900 x 900dpi without any odour and with 'proven eco-friendly qualities', says Mimaki. These include pre, print and post heaters running at temperatures of under 60°C, which, combined with built-in drying fans and no requirement for gassing off, also allow lamination to take place straight away.
The developments also use a 'unique' piezo print-head to offer a 4pl dot size and variable dot technology, no need for frequent user head replacement, and minimal waste.
Mimaki's forthcoming SUV inkset combines 'the flexibility of solvent with the durability of UV cured inks' and will be available on the Mimaki JV400-130SUV and 160SUV printers to offer scratch-resistance and vibrant colour, says the manufacturer.
The new JV400 printers use Mimaki's new RasterLink6 RIP which allows three layers of ink to be printed in one pass. All of the products will be distributed in the UK by Hybrid Services.
