Three new Seiko II ColorPainter W-64S printers will help ASAP UK turn around signs and graphics overnight
Sign and print company ASAP UK has installed three new Seiko II ColorPainter W-64S printers at its Southampton site to help it stay true to its name. The machines were supplied by Colourgen reseller City and West Solutions and use Caldera RIP software.
Managing director Jason Terry explains that ASAP UK looked at other solvent printers but opted for the Seiko as the printroom has been using the brand for ten years, and chose the ColorPainter W-64S printers rather than the larger ColorPainter H-104S model.
"Overall, the new printers have already made a big difference to our operation," says Terry. "They are faster, which means we can get through more work. The quality is even better than before and they are a bit cheaper to run in terms of ink costs. Also, they are just as reliable as our previous Seikos."
He adds: "A lot of our work is printed overnight and having three printers all running gives us more scope than just the one, albeit a faster and wider one."
