The backdrop needed to be reconfigurable for various stadia on the Coldplay European tour, according to Service Graphics
Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto tour will be supported by a 6,200sq m backdrop printed by Service Graphics on a NUR Expedio, the company has reported.
Set design and construction outfit Hangman specified the graphic to be water-proof, flame-retardant and light-weight, requiring it to be easily transportable and modular in configuration to make it suitable for differently sized venues. Service Graphics opted to use the coated acrylic substrate Visiontex to meet the brief, and states that it needed to consider colour consistency and image alignment carefully to ensure ease of installation in all possible configurations.
"We are thrilled to have been selected to provide graphics for such a high profile tour," comments Scott King, sales director for Service Graphics. "It demonstrates the variety and quality of the products and services we offer and positions Service Graphics as a best practice service provider."
Service Graphics is a division of St Ives Group, and adds that it printed the graphic at its site in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

This is a unique idea although I am not sure if the actual spectators really remember the signs and billboards in arena type sports anymore - it works wonders on the TV as ad placement when the sports are broadcasted and so does have its impact.
Must have had a real hard time putting it up!
overall = Fantastic!!
