The judges decided on winners from 21 categories in three market sectors
HP has named the winners of its Print Excellence Awards scheme for 2012. A panel of experts – including independent consultant and Output's own Mrs Ink-Jet, Sophie Matthews-Paul – judged entries from 364 HP Scitex, Indigo, Designjet and Inkjet Web Press users in 47 countries.
In the Commercial Print applications categories, Straub + Medien, Kisah Publishing, Vovremja, One to One Digital Solutions, Kubilay Ofset and Dygy were named winners.
Those picking up first-place prizes in the Labels and Packaging section were Gráficas Varias, Label Apeel, Digital Labels, Coreti, Springfield Solutions, CMC Group, Essel Propack, Promographic and Design, and Boyallgraphics and Print.
The Sign and Display sector first place winners were CLM BBDO, Next Printing, Dpod, Union Inks and Graphics Philippines, JMD Digital Art Xchange, and Golden Touch Color Laboratory and Photo Supply.
"The HP Print Excellent Awards concentrate on innovation," says Sophie Matthews-Paul. "However, they also look at environmentally responsible printing. We considered how entrants demonstrated creativity and skill. Seeing how the criteria were interpreted in the submissions from different parts of the world was very interesting."
A ceremony for the winners will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany on May 3rd.
