British scenes were 'reimagined' for the Selfridges windows, featuring 3D-effect displays from BAF Graphics
London department store Selfridges is currently sporting window displays celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, with visual graphics produced by BAF Graphics.
Called the Big British Bang, Selfridges's campaign featured 'huge' teaser window wraps printed by BAF Graphics onto blockout vinyl, before their removal to reveal 'stunning' 3D graphics complemented by graphics inside the shop.
BAF Graphics explains it used Océ Arizona kit to print onto large-scale cut-outs of MDF and foamboard directly, before employing digital technology and hand painting techniques on the raw edges to produce a 3D effect.
The photographic-quality prints form part of a range of window displays portraying 'a typically British scene […] with an amusing twist', such as 'a big builder's tea party'.
"BAF Graphics helped us to make the Big British Bang windows one of the most popular schemes we've ever done," comments Abi Shapiro, production manager, Selfridges. "The installation went really smoothly and we are delighted with the quality of the prints."
