PaperlinX's success with the YoYo recycling scheme is attributed partly to its use of in-house logistics to increase carbon efficiency
Paper merchant PaperlinX has grown its UK recycling programme YoYo from a waste paper-only recycling scheme to a recovery service for more disparate waste materials for businesses into continental Europe. Commercial print customers of Robert Horne, PaperCo and Howard Smith, and Robert Horne sign and display customers can now use the service.
PaperlinX says its supply chain partners include over 600 niche waste service providers in the UK and abroad which allows the company to operate a 'flexible brokerage model' that provides bespoke recovery and recycling solutions for each of its clients.
"We are delighted with the services supplied by YoYo," says Martin Wheatley from Melville Exhibitions, a user of the programme. "Since we started at our Coventry site we have seen both an increase in recycling and a reduction in costs. We have now awarded YoYo contracts to our five other UK sites and we anticipate useful administration savings as well as management information for waste compliance regulations."
PaperlinX's first YoYo scheme on the continent is now operating in the company's Czech Republic subsidiary Ospap which last month recovered and sorted nearly 200 tonnes of recyclables.
