Signlex's signs will illuminate the Hotel LaTour, which features 174 bedrooms, a restaurant, café and bar

A new 'concept' hotel in Birmingham, sporting illuminated signs produced by Signlex, is to open in March. The Hotel LaTour is the first in a chain of hotels due to open in UK cities.

Signlex was appointed by construction group Galliford Try to manufacture and install internally LED-illuminated high-level and lower-level signs. The signage was designed to complement the strong geometric architecture of the building, which is clad in limestone and black granite.

"We are delighted to have been successful in winning this contract to identify the first Hotel LaTour in the UK with illuminated signage," says Simon Belton, managing director of Signlex. "It has been an interesting and challenging installation programme due to timescales and specialist access requirements.

"All teams involved on this project are particularly looking forward to seeing the end result as far as construction is concerned and the start of business for this fantastic new hotel in March 2012."
