Bostock and Pollit's office development project was recognised in the award scheme's wayfinding category

London design agency Bostock and Pollitt has won the Wayfinding/Environmental Graphics prize at the Design Week Awards at a ceremony hosted by Blur's Alex James.

The award – sponsored by Signs Express and presented by the company's marketing manager Rebecca Dack – was bestowed on Bostock and Pollitt for its Merchant Square project for European Land. According to Signs Express, the judges 'loved the simplicity' of the live-edge Perspex used to guide potential buyers around the development.

"The challenge was to change perceptions about how to market a commercial office building," explains Richard Banks, European Land managing director.

"The brief to Bostock and Pollitt was to do this in a striking, memorable and highly visual way that complemented the contemporary nature of the architecture of the building and conveyed factual information about layouts, partitions, etc in an innovative way.

"As the client we feel this has been a hugely successful project and has quite literally changed people's perceptions about how a commercial office building should be finished by the developer. This means our desire to create less waste, save time and money from the traditional fit-out approach have all been achieved."
