Icon produced graphics for the Barclays Scottish Open, including for the grandstand
Signage and branding company Icon has commented on the work it completed for the Barclays Scottish Open golf tournament in July, which involved providing a combination of wayfinding, course dressing and branding. The competition took place at a new course for the European Tour, located at Castle Stuart between Inverness and Nairn.
The project benefited from Icon's past experience, according to Andrew Hodson, sales and marketing director. "Our appointment was only confirmed six weeks prior to the event so our extensive knowledge and experience in golf and the unpredictability of the British climate proved invaluable," he says.
"We were able to adapt and enhance a large amount of material that had been previously used at Loch Lomond, in addition to developing new solutions to meet the challenges presented by the very exposed nature of this new and exciting course."
Rory Colville from the European Tour adds: "Hosting an event of this scale at a new course venue is always a challenge. However, we were delighted with the overall look of the event that resulted from Icon's professional and creative installations."
