Delcam offers a number of ArtCam versions including ArtCam Express (pictured)
Visitors to next month's Sign and Digital UK trade fair will be able to see a preview of Delcam's new ArtCam offering. The first 64-bit version of the software will be released to the market at the end of April.
Delcam says the implementation of the 64-bit software can assist with dealing with large and memory-intensive files and can help sign-makers work faster. It also allows users to customise and record their favourite interface layout, and to create artwork either in ArtCam or to import pre-created 3D or 2D designs directly. 'Unique' modelling tools enable the conversion of 2D artwork into 3D shapes.
The software also allows signs to be made from a number of vector or relief layers that can be hidden or displayed to simplify manipulation. Designs on a particular relief layer can be divided into layers and saved to the relief library, which already contains more than 400 pieces of relief clipart supplied with the software, Delcam explains.
Other features of the new version include a Text Tool for the generation of basic text, and an Inlay Wizard for inlaid signs.
