PixelRange's PixelPars product was used for a seasonal lighting project in Solihull
An LED lighting project has been completed at Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull, which has resulted in three areas of the building lit up for the Christmas season.
A total of 36 PixelPars from PixelRange were used in the project, following a design created by Essex-based DPL Production Lighting. The product created 'dense pillars of light' via a combination of compact discharge profiles and moving lights, and were also used to produce an LED colour changing wash, which emanates from the entrance to draw attention to it. An entrance to the shopping centre was also 'brightened up' with an LED wash on the floor overlaid with a snowflake gobo projection.
"The installation has transformed the shopping centre," comments centre manager Paul Birkett. "The guest experience has been transformed by the innovative use of lighting and by using LED-based technology we have been able to stay true to our sustainability aspirations too."
DPL's technical director Pete Watts explains that the PixelPars met the project's sustainability demands. "The requirement was for low current fixtures with the ability to colour change, so LED units were obviously the way to go – and PixelRange is the brightest and the best quality you can get," he states.
