Created individually and to bespoke client requirements, LED Light Sheet from Applelec is a versatile back-lighting unit which delivers bright, even illumination whilst maintaining energy efficiency. Featuring a slim profile of 6mm or 8mm, this LED light panel is suitable for integration within signage, light-boxes and display systems.

LED Light Sheet panels are created by Applelec using patented technology in which clear acrylic is etched with a uniform matrix and cut to a specified shape and size. White or colour-changing thermally managed LEDs are then embedded within the acrylic and the etched matrix transports light from the LEDs across the entire surface of the panel.

The LED light panels are used extensively within the sign industry to streamline fascia, projecting and freestanding signage. The LED Light Sheet unit features an IP54 rating as standard, with an IP67 rating available for exterior applications, and can be supplied to customers with pre-programmed lighting controllers. In a recent project for Cheshire's Red Angel Hair Salon, LED Light Sheet was used in an illuminated 30mm deep-fascia sign and a fully illuminated 60mm-deep, double-sided projecting sign.

Richard Wedgwood, director of sign company Fastsigns Manchester, explains how his team used the product for the salon sign: "Our client requested a sleek illuminated design which we immediately knew could be achieved using Applelec's LED Light Sheet for the fascia and projecting signs. This was the first time we had used LED Light Sheet to achieve a double-sided illuminated projecting sign and our client was extremely impressed with the stylish result."

For the display industry, LED Light Sheet is used to create 25mm-deep bespoke light-boxes (illuminated snap frames) and 30mm-deep curved light-boxes, with Curved LED Light Sheet recently shortlisted for a lighting industry innovation award. In 2011, LED Light Sheet was featured in product display systems at fashion brand Mulberry's flagship London boutique, a system which helped Mulberry win Retailer of the Year at the 2011 LUX Awards in recognition of its commitment to minimising lighting energy.

Indeed, LED Light Sheet is a highly energy efficient source of lighting, providing 80 lumens per watt and featuring LEDs with a lifespan of at least 50,000 hours. Due to this level of efficiency, LED Light Sheet qualifies under the Government's ECA Energy Scheme which allows businesses to claim enhanced tax relief on investments in energy efficient equipment.

Manufactured in the UK by Applelec, LED Light Sheet features a three-year guarantee and can be ordered in single or multiple units.
