British fashion company Mulberry has won the Retailer of the Year title at the 2011 LUX Awards for its energy-minimising lighting scheme created by DPA Lighting, which included Applelec's LED Light Sheet.
Mulberry's London boutique features freestanding oak follies among the display areas, lit with the LED Light Sheet product which offers an LED lifespan of over 50,000 hours and is cool to the touch, explains Applelec. They have also been fitted with EldoLED Lineardrive 720s, allowing the shop to programme their brightness, and their slim profile allows them to be moved to different positions as the display units are rotated.
"It was a true honour to have a project which uses our LED Light Sheet recognised by the LUX Awards," says Ian Drinkwater, Applelec managing director. "DPA's lighting design maximises energy efficiency from all light fixtures, creating a unique and beautiful lit environment which demonstrates true innovation."
Mulberry beat Marks and Spencer and Morrisons in the awards, held last week at Chelsea Football Club.
