Node4's Andrew Gilbert says some businesses aren't aware of security options offered by cloud computing
Private cloud solutions may be a cost-effective way forward for firms that are worried about the possibility of hacking, according to data management and communications firm Node4. Its consideration follows recent hacking attacks which have claimed Amazon, Sony and the US Senate amongst its targets, alongside reports of the growth of the cloud computing market.
Andrew Gilbert, managing director of Node4, says that the cost of entry of bespoke solutions has fallen, and that private cloud options are becoming more accessible. He comments: "Many companies haven't completely grasped the enhanced security offered by the private cloud, often compromising their mission-critical data.
"Many shy away from it due to concerns of costs and putting their businesses at risk, without seriously looking at it as an intelligent option. However, as constant innovations in the cloud computing industry have lowered the costs of entry, more and more companies are being empowered to consider the private cloud option."
