The new SurePress L-4033AW [pictured] 'builds on the success' of the SurePress L-4033A, says Epson
Epson has announced its new SurePress ink-jet digital label press will be shown for the first time at drupa next month. The SurePress L-4033AW is a seven-colour press with white ink, plus the green and orange inks that form part of Epson's SurePress AQ ink-set. Epson emphasises the press's ability to produce short-run labels on metallic and clear substrates.
"Unlike conventional presses that require long and complex makeready, the L-4033AW is quick and easy to set up, with no plates or films to prepare," says Marc Tinkler, senior business development manager at Epson Europe.
He adds: "The L-4033AW maximises uptime with automated print-head maintenance and hot-swappable ink cartridges, with no need to stop the press to change them during production."
The SurePress also offers the option of printing white first or last, and Micro Piezo print-heads for the accurate printing of barcodes and small text. It will be available towards the end of 2012.
