Northampton-based digital print company Boyall Graphics received an HP Print Excellence Award in the Labels and Packaging – Speciality Printing category at a ceremony during drupa 2012 this month. Boyall Graphics beat international competitors with its entry, corporate hard hats decorated using an HP Indigo s2000 digital press.

Individual, personalised hard hats featuring 100 percent coverage over the surface area can be produced Boyall Graphics using the Indigo s2000 machine, as an alternative to analogue processes such as pad printing which restrict short-run work, colours and coverage area, the company explains. The hats can feature the wearer's name, adverts and other artwork supplied by the customer printed on the Indigo, which Boyall Graphics also uses for the production of plastic ID cards, brewery dispense graphics and other small items.

"Being awarded the Hewlett Packard Global Print Award for Speciality Printer is extremely important to us," comments Paul Hickmott, sales and marketing director at Boyall Graphics. "It assures potential customers in Northamptonshire and the surrounding area that they are dealing with a highly professional printer capable of making them stand out from the crowd."

The HP Print Excellence Awards' 21 categories attracted 364 entries from 47 countries.
