John Dollin's new HP Indigo 5500 press has 'performed admirably', says the UK print service provider
Whitchurch, Hampshire-based printing company John Dollin has replaced an old digital printer with a new HP Indigo 5500 press, and has reported 'significantly' increased production and 'much higher uptime' since its installation five months ago.
Chris Andrews, digital manager at John Dollin, comments on the Indigo press's features: "We've used a number of the press's abilities to add value to products and undertake different work for customers. Having also chosen HP's Thick Substrate Kit, we can now print on materials up to 450g/sq m, as well as use the press for self-adhesive label printing – which we couldn't do on our previous press.
"We've also used Digital Matte ink that creates a spot varnish effect, and also HP Indigo White Ink. With good colour matching and the print quality available from the HP Indigo 5500, we've been able to integrate conventionally and digitally printed work in the same jobs – like marketing collateral – and use personalisation to give it greater impact."
