Ricoh has released the MP W7100SP and MP W8140SP printers, two wide-format, toner-based machines for the AEC sector.

Designated as 'print-and-fold' devices, the multi-functional monochrome models come with two- or four-roll capacity and are designed for use with the Estefold 4211 system from Es-Te. A removable colour scanner unit and 'easy handling' paper are incorporated, while optional extras include a scanner separation tool and multi-stacker unit.

Both machines feature the manufacturer's DFE, which offers support for several AEC formats as well as PostScript level three. At 600dpi resolution the MP W7100SP and MP W8140SP reach speeds of up to ten and 14 pages per minute respectively in terms of output.

For ease of use, both printers can be operated solely from the front. They can be controlled via a touchscreen, which shows system notifications and print previews to make task management a simpler proposition.

"These solutions expand Ricoh's support for higher volume AEC clients," explains Graham Moore, director of business development at Ricoh Europe. "The MP W7100SP and MP W8140SP deliver enhanced ease of use, productivity, image quality and reliability. Together with the online folder, they offer the perfect print-and-fold solution, ideal for the AEC and professional print environments as well as central reprographic departments."
