[EFI] [Morwenna Kearns, editor]

A Happy New Year from all at Output! It seems our end-of-term cat-themed silliness went down well before Christmas, but it's time now, unfortunately, to get back into work. For many this may have been delayed by the weather sweeping the country last week – a topic covered by Sophie Matthews-Paul in Talk Print! – but for others it may be much worse.

Last week we reported on Kodak, the latest potential casualty of the printing industry's struggles, and it's unlikely to be the last to hit trouble before the weather gets warmer. We will continue to bring you the latest news, but, as always, let us know your more positive stories too.

  Laurel says:

[Laurel Brunner] "For sign and display makers JDF is absolutely relevant. It is a kind of digital job bag, so it helps keep track of where a job is in the workflow."

Industry Insights - QR Educate Part 1 of 3

While some may say they're being edged out by NFC, QR codes are definitely still a common sight on out-of-home and small-format advertising. If you're not sure what they're all about, digital signage folks rVue have put together some videos explaining what they are and how they're used.

VOTWs from 2011, our own videos and everything else we think is worth watching can be found on the Output YouTube channel.
