[Morwenna Kearns, editor]

This week is a special one for Output as we celebrate our first birthday. Like all one-year-olds we've suffered a few topples and tantrums, but we have a fantastic network of friends, industry colleagues and readers, and I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us to this milestone.

As I mentioned last week, we're celebrating by launching a new Production Print stream on Output, with articles and videos on the world of small-format digital printing and how it fits into our sector, as we know it's something that's part of many of your businesses. Now, time for cake!

Last week, we asked our experts:

[Laurel Brunner]

"The printing community, already drenched in PostScript blood following years of making it work, embraced PDF."

[Sophie Matthews-Paul]

"PDF is an open standard which takes on board everything within a document that's needed to display it."
