Editor's note [spacer line]

[Morwenna Kearns, managing editor]

The trade fair season truly kicked off last week, with Digital Signage Expo and the triple-whammy of FESPA Americas, Graphics of the Americas and ISS happening in the USA. It carries on with EuroShop retail show in Germany and the big one for Britain – Sign and Digital UK – is soon to come. We have lots of news about confirmed exhibitors at all of these events, so hop over to Output to keep on top of what to expect.

In this week's newsletter, we revisit some past features you may have missed, with a focus on emerging technologies: QR code incorporation into posters and billboards, glasses-free 3D digital signage, and printing onto ceramic substrates. Visit the features section on the site for even more discussions, examinations and investigations of the big topics in the display industry.

This week, we're asking:

Why should I consider UV-curable technology instead of solvent?

Wide-format experts Laurel Brunner and Sophie Matthews-Paul will be contributing to the Talk Print! area as usual to give their own opinions. But what's your answer to the Question of the Week? Do you think the opposite? Get in touch by email or via our LinkedIn group to tell us what you think.

Also in the HP Talk Print! section, Laurel asks 'can you give me what I want?' in a discussion on how to get the word out to customers about new ventures.

Sophie's been in Florida for FESPA Americas and tells us about not only the launch of the Discovery shuttle but also of Wide Format Print Shop Live!, which she co-hosted, as well as offering sound advice for printers thinking about buying new equipment.

Talk Print! also features news about HP users and equipment, so get in touch if you have a story of your own.
