Mitsubishi Electric has increased the size of its public display LCD screens, aimed at digital signage and point-of-information applications, to 65".
The MDT651S monitor, which is flanked by models in 32, 42, 46 and 52" sizes, is suitable for retail, transportation, leisure and public area signage applications, according to the manufacturer. It is capable of operation in landscape and portrait formats and can produce tiled displays of up to 5 x 5 units, enabled by integral image processing.
Mitsubishi adds the MDT651S provides full high-definition at 1,920 x 1,080px at 700sq m/cd, with a contrast ratio of 2500:1, and a response time of 8ms grey-to-grey to ensure 'crystal-clear' reproduction of dynamic content. Installation and content management is simplified via LAN, according to Mitsubishi, with a built-in CAT5 receiver.
The monitor also has energy-saving features, including a dual light sensor which can match light output with its surroundings automatically, and scheduling functions to allow the screen to power on and off or be programmed to change display mode at specified times.
