Self-service ordering kiosks from Ping HD have been installed at US retail chain The Fresh Grocer, aimed at reducing queuing time and allowing customers to place bespoke orders before continuing shopping and returning to collect their items.

Kevin Goldsmith, drector of Digital Media Operations at Ping HD, explains the deployment of the touchscreen system: "Careful consideration went into the planning and execution of this self-service solution. The kiosks are strategically positioned in the stores to avoid bottlenecks and the deli area has been reformatted to accommodate a special pick-up area to avoid unnecessary congestion and lines."
