Billabong customers will now be able to book surf lessons in-store
Surf clothing company Billabong has launched a new touchscreen kiosk at its Manly shop, in Sydney, Australia, which enables customers to book and buy last-minute surfing lessons and holidays. The software was developed by Yeahpoint in collaboration with online holiday company GoSea.
The kiosk includes a 23" (58cm) touchscreen and is being trialled at the front of the Billabong store for three months before potentially being deployed nationally. It is the first time that Billabong has used digital touchscreen technology, says Yeahpoint.
"The technology we have at our disposal now has never been stronger or more commercially viable," says Yeahpoint's chief executive, John Anderson. "We can now develop solutions for retailers that add real value to the consumer which is ultimately what is going to keep them coming back.
"The GoSea application is a perfect fit for Billabong and provides a real opportunity for surfing brands Australia-wide to integrate with the innovative work both Billabong and GoSea are doing."
