The gesture-controlled window display allows shoppers to browse from outside
Manchester-based Hidden Creative has launched its new application for gesture-controlled window displays this week, which it says allows retailers to promote and showcase their products by inviting customers to browse a website, catalogue or brochure projected onto the shop window using hand and body movement.
As well as potentially increasing footfall in the shop, the Gesture Catalogue application also enables customers to purchase products outside opening hours as well as to check stock and locate items in the store, says Hidden Creative.
"The technology supports bricks and mortar retailing by driving customers into store but supporting online offers and promotions, helping to make traditional outlets more integrated with multichannel retail strategies," says Peter O'Brien, operations director at Hidden Creative.
In addition, the company is launching a new managed service to provide access to an agency development team that can create bespoke gesture recognition and augmented reality solutions. Other Hidden Creative offerings include a virtual changing room and a virtual optician's, where customers can wear augmented reality clothes and 'digital' glasses respectively.
