See-through digital displays for retail on show at EuroShop

PrimaSee enables shoppers to view both dynamic adverts and the contents of supermarket cabinets behind the screens

PrimaSee, a new digital advertising product for retail environments from Stratacache, has made its debut at the EuroShop exhibition in Düsseldorf. Visitors to the trade fair will be able to see the product until March 2nd.

Stratacache states the product is suitable for locations such as freezer cabinets, as it delivers high-resolution, dynamic video adverts within a glass panel, without covering the cabinet's contents. It has an embedded media player to allow content to be changed easily, enabling adverts to correspond with the products visible behind it.

The company adds that customers can be further engaged via QR codes displayed on the screen, offering social media interactivity, videos or promotional coupons.

"PrimaSee is the latest in-store media to aid consumers in their purchasing decisions," comments Chris Riegel, Stratacache chief executive. "This technology provides full-motion, high-impact video to assist consumers with wayfinding, all while allowing them to view the product on the shelves behind the message.

"Truly transforming the path to purchase, this unique technology will alter the retail environment within the next year."
