Daktronics screens have been installed in Westfield malls across the USA
Retail organisation Westfield Media Group has announced that the first stage of its Digital Spectacular Network scheme is now finished thanks to the installation of high-definition screens from Daktronics in its New Jersey, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles sites. The project follows Daktronics's roll-out of a similar network in six of Westfield's Australian shopping centres.
Chicago's single-sided panel measures 18 x 13' and uses Daktronics's time-tested LED video technology, whilst San Francisco, Los Angeles and New Jersey's screens are double-sided and rotate by 360°. Content is made up of 50 percent advertising, 25 percent shopping centre marketing and 25 percent news, sport and weather feeds.
David Askew, senior vice-president of Westfield Media Group, states: "We believe that our large-format Digital Spectacular Displays are a first in US shopping centres, and therefore make Westfield the current benchmark of technological innovation.
"Given Daktronics's history as a premier LED display supplier and our initial work with them across our Australian properties, they were the clear choice to help us successfully deploy our vision for an iconic, versatile, digital content platform that accommodates live information, video feeds, interactivity, and advertising segments."
