NEC digital panels have been deployed at the new Fifth Avenue branch of Uniqlo

NEC has provided around 430 digital signage displays for two branches of fashion retailer Uniqlo in New York, USA, located on Fifth Avenue and 34th Street. The displays include large quad multi-displays, comprising 46" (1.2m) 'ultra-narrow' displays and content distribution systems, which show Uniqlo advertisements.

NEC explains that both the signage and the content are controlled remotely from Uniqlo's data centre in Japan, while the content distribution system from NEC allows flexible delivery to each of its branches across the world.

The digital signage 'contributes to the [shops'] contemporary atmosphere', says NEC.
