The first HP Store in Canada features a digital signage system powered by a combination of a Scala back end and HP workstation technology, it has been revealed.
Scala explains its certified partner 10net Managed Solutions worked with HP Canada and AdCetera to deploy the signage, which greets customers as they enter the Vancouver shop. The network includes 'experience pods' and a section displaying HP technology products, plus three 47" (1.19m) LCD HP LD4700 screens in the check-out area which show product and store information plus personalised customer messages. The screens, which are installed side by side on a curved wall, are powered by an HP Z400 Workstation.
"The Scala back end enables customised changes simply and quickly. Screens can either share or feature unique content," explains Bill Nuttall, founder of 10net, which designed, installed and hosts the network, manages the content using Scala 5 and monitors the screens.
"Now, The HP Store employees can focus on their business without worrying about additional in-house monitoring and installation support resources."
The HP Store staff are able to update content using dynamic templates developed by AdCetera using Scala Designer.
