Advantech's networked DOOH solution simplified the installation and maintenance of an international fast food chain's locations in China
Starting with locations in Shanghai, China an international fast food chain has upgraded its digital signage platform, formerly powered by consumer-grade PCs, to industrial media players designed to give the firm's out-of-home digital signage solutions the capability to display HD video playback, high-resolution images, Flash and other graphical formats to strengthen the network's functionality and branding power.
The solution included industrial digital media delivery developer Advantech's ARK-DS520 compact, low-profile media players and the company's proprietary SUSIAccess for remote content management, updating, diagnosis and maintenance. Because the ARK-DS520s are installed behind the restaurants' LCD displays and SUSIAccess allows remote management to the in-store networks, the cables required for installation remain hidden – in line with the restaurants' 'sleek and stylish' decor.
"ARK-DS520 proves to be an ideal and cost-effective solution for the retail environment," says the company responsible for the installation. "It not only enriches the dining experience for the guests in the restaurants, but helps maximise promotional efforts as well."
