The digital signage is positioned to target queuing customers
With the arrival of the British strawberry season, AllSee Technologies has released details on a project at a local farm shop last summer that used its digital signage equipment.
Grays Farm in Wokingham, Berkshire required a way to promote its pick-your-own scheme, as well as a means to show the public where their fresh produce comes from, and chose a digital signage system and content from Brian Steptoe Photography. Screens measuring 32" (81cm) were installed at point-of-purchase locations by Grays Farm staff.
The content produced by Brian Steptoe includes 300 images and three videos of a year's worth of activity on the farm, and is managed and updated seasonally by Steptoe. He comments: "Having the screen in the farm shop has provided customers with a rich insight into the products they are buying. For example, it is currently strawberry season, so the screen is displaying images of the strawberry fields being picked by customers."
The medium has attracted interest from the public, says AllSee, adding that Grays Farm has been featured on BBC local news and weather.
