The 7-Eleven TV network will display news, weather, entertainment and advertising in 6,200 shops

A digital advertising network is to be rolled out in 7-Eleven convenience stores across the USA, creating one of the country's largest broadcast TV networks, according to Harris, which has agreed a ten-year deal for its deployment. It is expected to reach more than 200m people per month.

Harris, a communications and information technology company, will manage content production and advertising sales for the 7-Eleven TV network as well as providing hardware, software and managed services to Digital Display Networks, which is supplying turnkey services.

The network has already been deployed in 500 branches, a number which will rise to 6,200 under the $75m (£46.3m) deal, and features 24-7 content including news and weather, entertainment, and advertising.

Harris Morris, president, Harris Broadcast Communications, comments: "7-Eleven TV is an incredibly powerful new medium for both 7-Eleven and its advertisers. Our integrated digital signage network solution with its rich DOOH software combined with our 24-7 managed network services – which are proven daily in the world's most demanding production environments and live broadcast and live event venues – are driving 7-Eleven TV today, and are architected to expand with the network and support new applications, such as mobile and social media."
