The billboard has a lighthouse appearance
A three-sided billboard, comprised of a combination of static and digital signage, has been created by out-of-home company Durden Outdoor, based in Alabama, USA. The centre piece of the structure – which Durden states resembles a lighthouse – is a 12 x 24' (3.7 x 7.3m) digital billboard manufactured by Watchfire Digital Outdoor. It is flanked by static boards.
The sign has been installed near the main shopping area of Eufaula, Alabama, where it recognises Lake Eufaula and the area's history.
Durden explains that it formerly imported its digital billboards from a manufacturer based in China, which resulted in high shipping and other transportation costs and a delay between purchasing and receiving the boards, which arrived in multiple pieces that required assembly by Durden.
"Our imported digital billboards operate on three-phase power, whereas Watchfire's boards only require a single-phase power source," adds Bill Durden, vice-president and creative director of Durden Outdoor. "This instantly translated to a significant cost savings for us."
