Knightsbridge department store Harrods used the LED screens throughout its January/February window campaign
A window display at famous London department store Harrods has recently come to an end, which featured LED screens from Isle of Wight-based Big Screen Media.
The project included six 4 x 2.5m screens comprised of 72 Lighthouse R7-ER panels, which were chosen for their 'slightly pixelated effect up close'. Video clips and visuals were shown across the screens to promote Harrods's 'Building Blocks' window campaign.
"It's fantastic to be approached by one of the world's most famous department stores and be supplying something which is to be a major part of the store's window displays," says technical director and project manager for Big Screen Media, Alex Hall.
"This is the second time we have supplied LED screens in Harrods now and the store is keen to continue working with us in future. Such prestigious contracts do not come around all the time, so we are very privileged to be working with them."
Each of the 72 panels had an independent LIP-DX processor, while scaling was done via Extron DVS-304s and Pharos Architectural Controls provided the playback solution with its new AVC compact media server.
