Daktronics also installed a new sound system for the venue
Daktronics has installed a four-sided centre-hung digital display with custom audio system, along with two auxiliary displays at the Rutgers Athetic Center (RAC) in New Jersey, USA, as part of efforts to improve the match day experience for fans of Rutgers University's basketball team.
The screens, which measure 2.1 x 3.7m (7 x 12ft) have line spacing of 6mm and can show either one large image – for instant replay and advertising – or can be split into multiple screens to show a range of statistics and important in-game information.
The displays feature both a top and lower ring, of 0.6 x 18.9m and 0.6 x 13.1m respectively, and can be used in conjunction with the auxiliary boards to highlight key, real-time statistics and advertisements.
"Our new Daktronics video boards and sound system have greatly enhanced the game-day experience for our fans and corporate sponsors, as well as the teams," comments Geoff Brown, chief marketing officer at Rutgers. "The RAC has a tremendous collegial quality. Thanks to Daktronics, we were able to supplement those attributes with the latest technologies. The result is a game-day experience that appeals to a variety of consumers."
