Paul and Shark's new digital signage installation is supported by Milan's 3G electronics

Equipment from Magenta Research, NDS and NEC has been installed in the Milan shop of sportswear brand Paul and Shark. The site, which is located in the fashionable Montenapoleone shopping district of the city, is now fitted with a total of 18 MultiSync ultra-narrow bezel monitors arranged in both portrait- and landscape-orientated video walls.

The installation makes use of PADS Professional software from NDS, which allows all content to be managed remotely and, the company explains, enables the easy distribution, control, display and creation of a wide range of content, including real-time data from any source. Nine dual-output PCs power the 46" (117cm) X461UN panels.

Employees of Paul and Shark have stated that the combined digital signage efforts of the three companies have allowed them to fulfil their aim of creating an iconic storefront that makes use of innovative technology.

Magenta Research explains that through use of its video extension receivers and transmitters, audiovisual signals have been able to travel across distances of 2,000' (609.6m) over CAT-5 (UTP).
