The Healthcare Messaging Group, using signagelive software, says it offers NHS hospitals a way to raise revenue while communicating messages to patients

A digital signage solution using signagelive software has been provided to NHS hospitals in the UK by The Healthcare Messaging Group, which allows the NHS to communicate healthcare information to patients, visitors and staff.

The campaign, called the Patient Information Initiative, sees content paid for by corporate sponsors in the healthcare sector, whose messages will appear around twelve times each hour on a loop, with approximately 25 company messages displayed alongside news and information on hospital events and clinic times. Content is tailored to the location of the digital screen and can be controlled and changed immediately by NHS trusts themselves.

To date, nearly £500,000 has been raised by the Patient Information Initiative for its partner hospitals, as Ian Gabbie, commercial director at The Healthcare Messaging Group explains: "There is a big difference between advertising and appropriate, targeted information that's of interest and help to patients and healthcare professionals. Our initiative has created a new communication channel for hospitals that also serves as a valuable revenue generator."

He adds: "Using signagelive makes it very easy for us to set up the messages and then distribute them to the relevant screens."
